TWO nights in a row, even.
Last night I went out to meet some knitters. It was pretty nerve-wracking, but I figured if Laurie could do it, so could I. There were only two people (they were very nice) besides me at this weekly meeting, and I just could not stop blabbering on and on. Was I supposed to let them sit and knit in peace? It seemed so odd. Maybe I'll look for another group that has lots and lots of people in it so I can fade into the background.
Tonight was our first rehearsal for Miracle Worker. Troy was at rehearsal for his other play, so I was in charge. I knew what I needed to be doing, and I was only blocking three actors, but I still felt like a goofball. I'm not a very good explainer. There was lots of pointing and strange looks.
My shattered nerves need soothing.

Funny how some weeks my knitting group is very quiet, and other weeks we just can't stop gabbing. I wonder if it depends on the overall complexity of group members' projects.

First blocking rehearsals can be awkward, Miz K, especially when you aren't familiar with all the actors, so you're not sure what kind of explanations work for them. And extra especially when you're working on another show's set that isn't even remotely like the one yours will look like... with a baby grand and everything. But the juke box and all that blue fabric are pretty cool, eh? Thanks for being in charge!

It's definitely worth your time to investigate other knitting groups. I started attending one, but wasn't crazy about the condescending nature of some of the folks - I took their comments to heart because I was a new knitter, even though I *definitely* knew in the depths of my brain that I was right. But eventually I found a different knitting group which is so much more friendly and meets at a much more convenient time for me. Even though it's terribly out of the way from where I live, it's worth my time to attend :).

I'm really looking forward to the rehearsals, especially if you're in charge. That just sounds so FUN! :-)
